We looked for a home for about two years. It was difficult to find a neighborhood we liked that was also close to Ga. 400. As soon as we saw it, we knew that Heatherton was just the style we wanted in terms of architecture and a place to raise our son. As we learned more, we were impressed with the quality of construction and Monte Hewett’s reputation for building nice homes. Throughout construction and after, Monte has made himself available. We bought a house and shared in a business transaction, but it also feels like we joined a big family and we’re all trying to help each other.

Every person we’ve worked with has been friendly and open-minded to our suggestions. The sales agents were welcoming and invited us to visit the model for ideas as often as we wanted. Neil and Charles were such a plus. Neil designed our stone patio and fireplace. We gave him an idea of what we wanted, and he used his experience to visualize it and make it work. When he finished, it was exactly what we wanted. Charles is still there to help, even several months after we’ve moved in. If we have a question, he responds quickly, as if our closing were tomorrow.

The home we chose is the Brighton plan. One of our favorite aspects is a small office as you come in from the garage. It’s one of those details that we didn’t think much about at first, but now that we have it, we realize what a helpful room it is for bill paying and home management. It demonstrates Monte Hewett Homes’ attention to details and add-ons that make life easier.

Our home has many additional details that make it stand out. Each time we return from a vacation, we’re “wowed” all over again. Details like the stone fireplace, transoms, glass doors on the office, brick wall in the breakfast area, countertops, varied ceiling heights – all of them work together. We rarely see elements in other homes and think, “I wish I had that,” because we already have everything. We don’t have to worry about upgrades or home improvements.

We were drawn to the Heatherton community initially because of the location near Ga 400, but our favorite part is the Colonial style of the brick homes and the earthtone colors. It’s a great walking community. We regularly spend time outdoors with our 9-month-old son. Another benefit is the reasonable fee for the Homeowners Association. We pay less than we did for our condominium and get more in return.

It’s important to us that our home is kind to the environment. Our energy bills are similar to those we had in our condo, but our home is larger. Because of the construction and high quality HVAC, our home is quiet; we can’t even hear the air conditioner running. Our home is heated or cooled within five minutes of turning it on.
