Georgia's Mortgage Rates Trend Below National Average

 

Zillow.comAccording to Zillow.com, Georgia's mortgage rates continue to be lower than the national average. As of today, Zillow reports that our state's mortgage rates are 10 basis points lower than the national average of 5.07%. The national rates range from the lowest rate of 4.75% in Kentucky, to 6.00% in Mississippi. Today's rate in Georgia (4.87%) is down 4 basis points from last week.

Smyrna Approves New Development to Replace Belmont Hills Eyesore

 

Belmont Hills DevelopmentFinally! As reported in the AJC last week, Smyrna officials have officially approved Halpern Enterprises plan to redevelop the Belmont Hills shopping center. Located at the corner of Windy Hill Road and Atlanta Road in Smyrna, Belmont Hills have ben an eyesore and the topic of much conversation among Smyrna residents. The plan calls for the mostly vacant space to containas many as 902 homes and 127,000 square feet of retail space. It will bedeveloped in six phases with the first demolition scheduled to start in Spring 2009. Homes will be a mix of three- and four-story condos and luxury apartments, townhomes and single-family homes.
